Ethan + Kailey – handmade love

The drive was crazy, two hours or so outside Melbourne and as we got closer to where Kailey and Ethan where all we had do go by was these little hand painted wooden signs, where Joseph and I would leap out of our cars and get shots of it constantly exclaiming, ‘it’s so worth it’.nnEthan barefoot and dreadies’ greeted us as we got out of our cars. “You sure you boys got the right wedding?” We like to ‘suit up’ in our finest when shooting a wedding. Clearly a more casual and relaxed attire was needed here. nnThere were oohs and ahhs all day, everything was a complete and perfect composition, all the elements where at play, the Gods above where smiling down at us as the only way you could get this wedding visually wrong was that one would need to be dead.nnI ran around all day, not giving a thought to how exhausted I would be later, and completely forgetting the distance of the drive back home. At one stage Kailey needed her laptop from the cottages which was up on a the hill, in order to get a song that she waned to be played for the father and daughter dance. I offered, and up I went, searched everywhere, finally finding it. Brought it back to the DJ who could not get the track from it, so I jigged a couple of things and got it working. Kailey and Ethan where very thankful, but for me, this is just part of what we do. Don’t believe for one moment the success of our business is built only on our work…it goes way beyond that.n The plates, the cutlery, the whole shebang was put together by Kailey and her family, she had been collecting old bottles for months, bunting and nicknacks to bring the styling to life. They had been working around the clock for days, and all this is the result. I love this wedding, l love this couple, I love doing what I do, and being able to bring joy and happiness to others.
